Starla was born in Geneva County and raised in a small town called Hartford,
Alabama. Starla was raised in a Christian Home with Christian values and attended
church on a regular basis. Starla has been singing since the young age of three.
Starla took voice, piano, guitar and organ lessons when growing up. Performing
played a big role in Starla’s life. Starla would perform at churches, beauty
shops, garage sales, school functions, town functions, charity functions, basically
it did not matter what the occasion, if people would listen she would sing. One
of Starla’s favorite things to do was singing at the nursing homes, which she
still presently does along with her daughter Kayla. Christian ministry plays
a big role in Starla's life.
In Starla’s teen years she was a regular on the local opry called the “Ole Taylor
Made Opry” and traveled with the opry on the road. Starla performed with several
country artists such as: Ernest Tubbs, Justin Tubbs, David Houston, Dell Wood,
Gene Watson, Speck Rhodes, LuLu Roman (formerly on Hee Haw), Box Car Willie, Ernie
Ashworth, Don Gibson, Wally Fowler, Charlie McCoy, Jim Owen, and Charlie Walker
to name a few. She also performed in Nashville at the Nashville Jubilee! Starla
has made appearances on several local TV shows such as “The Country Boy Eddie
Show” in Birmingham, Alabama and The Ann Varnum Show in Dothan, Alabama. Starla
had the honor of performing at the Annual Hank Williams Memorial Celebration held
in Alabama and Starla also attended “Fan Fair” in Nashville where she had a booth
and got to meet and greet her fans while spreading the word of God's Love.
Starla has toured with gospel groups such as The Chosen Heirs, from Dothan, Alabama,
in 1999. Prior to that, Starla toured with her sisters Reflections of Faith,
from Hartford, Alabama. Other Christian gospel artists Starla has performed with
are Twice Robin, Cricket Lee, Jack Greene, Chuck Day, The Ranger Quartet, The
Gilmore Brothers, James Blackwood, Larry Ford and Son Country's Radio Personality
Fred Bacher.
The Lord has blessed Starla with a wonderful family, her husband of twenty-one
years, Darin Moore and their beautiful daughter Kayla Moore who is eighteen.
Starla’s singing career was placed on hold when their daughter was diagnosed
with Stage 4, Neuroblastoma cancer at the young age of thirteen months old. The
doctors gave them no hope of Kayla surviving. The Lord gave Starla a peace that
he was going to heal their daughter when the time was right. When Starla spoke
of this to the doctors they would always tell her that Kayla was not going to
survive, that she needed to be realistic. Starla thanked the doctors for their
honesty, but told them they do not decide her child’s future, GOD does.

Treatments lasted for one full year where Starla and Kayla were only home three
days out of each month for that entire year. Prayers began pouring out worldwide
for their child, and prayers were answered.
Five days before Kayla’s second birthday the Moore’s received the call from the
doctors. Kayla’s latest test results showed that the cancer had disappeared.
Kayla has been in remission now for thirteen years and still shocking the doctors
with her progress. We give GOD the GLORY, the HONOR, and the PRAISE for this
miracle.
Our GOD is a very
POWERFUL GOD
He is a MIRACLE WORKER
HE IS ALWAYS THERE FOR US!
Starla's testimonies are so powerful and spirit filled that it touches everyone
who hears
them. Starla's goal is to persue Christian Ministry full time. Starla has a personal
relationship with God and is dedicated to serving HIM and using the talents given
her to do HIS will. Starla’s desire is to reach as many people as possible spreading
the wonderful gospel of GOD’s great love for each and every one of us. Starla
hopes to give people who are hurting, needy and lost, true hope and inspiration
that will last through eternity with the Lord in their hearts. There is nothing
more rewarding than to be a servant for GOD!
Psalm 30:12
"TO THE END THAT MY GLORY MAY SING PRAISE TO YOU AND NOT
BE SILENT, O LORD MY GOD, I WILL GIVE THANKS TO YOU FOREVER"
Starla, her husband Darin, and daughter Kayla are members of Ridgecrest Baptist
Church in Dothan, Alabama.
Starla’s Motto
